Turkeys for the Table

My Turkey just got some new friends. Last Thursday we went to the Big Mountain to enjoy the fresh mountain air.  We wandered around the Big Village; entering tourist stores, with tourist prices. But when my sister & I came across these we just had to get them...

                                                     Turkey Salt & Pepper Shakers

There was also a beautiful teapot, that once we got it home we saw that it  matched Sister's new ceramic Pumpkin - awesome finds that also had  45% off.

With a new Tuesday Table Top coming I needed some inspiration and with Turkey Day approaching, I wanted to have the turkeys as my focal point. Only the pumpkins are bigger then the turkeys.....

so how do I make that happen.... with pedestals. Well I didn't have any but I knew I could by going to the Dollar Tree.

Even though I got 3 of the same size candlesticks from the Dollar Tree, I wanted one to be a bit taller. When to work early and did a bit of scouting and found a taller candlestick. This morning I was just going to write about putting them together only I couldn't find my glass glue so using my hot glue gun, which isn't permanent & a good thing since Sis & I began talking about painting them. We came up with the idea to give it a mercury glass look. I was able to get the look I wanted - Turkeys as the focal point.

The is what it looks like, I grabbed some scatter leaves - bought 2 years ago from the Dollar Tree - and some acorns that I had gotten from Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago. Put it all together and voila ....

Well, that's the Table for Tuesday, have an awesome day of Turkey, full of family & friends love and thankfulness of God's blessings.

                                                  until next,
                                                                Mia

couple of things.... if you choose to try this the hot glue is not a permanent adhesive so move by the bottom stick and the raffia didn't make it the final cut, in case you wondered. Lastly, I will share my trip to the Big Mountain soon.
