Reflecting the Last Week

Me and Archibald

Just wanted to stop by and say that I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. Mine was full of family, food and fun. Also this guy, my grandpuppy Archibald.

This week I have been giving over to my cold and dishes. My sister cooked a meal that  always brings the family running to the table and every dish used. So no tabletop has been done.

The last week of the Year is the time in which
                                                                     I think...
                                                                                 plan....
                                                                                        reflect ....

I work on my inner-self often so that my space reflects what I long for. I tend to let the moments whirlwinds take over, letting the space get cluttered and over whelm me. Have you heard the saying ' one step forward, two steps back..'  that is what I feel some days. I am thankful that every night I can wake to a new morning and a new start. And some days I may take three steps forward to two back, letting me gain one step, YAY.
I have thoughts swirling around my head that need to get to paper & calendar so they can come to life. Looking for my own apartment, projects of Art, and most important time spent with my Kids. Let's not forget My Someday Goal - living in on a Mountain, is where I want to be, is always on my mind. How to get there and afford it. Oh and having a blast for my birthday; in 2 weeks. I say all this so you will know that I haven't abandon these Random Thoughts, just working on getting space organized and won't be here again till next year... haha next year is next week.
Retail is calling, need to get ready for work.

Have an awesome week and A New Year Day,
                                            until next,
                                                        Mia

beginning to look a lot like Christmas

A quick run down of everything : I'm working and the past 2 weeks had hours added at the last minute; allergy turn cough/cold; decorating for Christmas; and the shopping. The allergy/cold has me in such a blah mood that if I wasn't at work, I was zoned out. I just barely got this done in time for my sister. My brother in law bought this for my sister as a surprise and it was my job to set it up.

thought I took a picture with the greenery

I am just going to add all the pictures and let them do the talking, maybe.

cookies I made for my co-worker, hoping to make some more cookies this week
the tree my sister decorated

Cardinals for the table, I bought the ornament for my tree and the Salt & Pepper are my sisters. I just bought those votive, loving the red.  I took these pictures for Tabletop Tuesday, which now I can't remember if it was last Tuesday or the one before hahaha.  OK pictures talking here...

Think my sister & I have Cardinals theme on the mind this year. Because she bought these towels for the bathroom, wanting to do red instead of the Winter Wonderland of last year. Can't seem to find those pictures... sure that there is some, somewhere, alright back to this year. Then I find this shower curtain ... perfect.

This changed the plans for my room. I didn't really look at the box to see that the tree was black with lights, wanted green with lights when I bought it. So, I hanged everything with Command hooks around the room.

My collection of Nativity's are around my TV along with my tree and Daddy.

Daddy

the pine cone tree a bargain!!!! happy to say I got it. week before I saw it and thought I could make this (put it on the mental project list) then this week it is 70% off   YAY!!! cross that never done project off my list. LOL

So much not put out, the Village and mini living room tree scenes didn't make it. I just didn't have the energy to carve out a place in my unfinished trying to organize my room; noticed no desk and you don't see the top of my dresser LOL.

Time to get ready for work, have an awesome time with your love ones and remember to say happy birthday to the reason we celebrate. Jesus our Savior's birth.

love this song, and this group has a gift and I am sharing this with you, I found it on YouTube.

until next time, have a Merry Christmas

Tables

Tables a lovely piece of furniture - very useful in so many ways. Work stations, catch all, and most importantly a spot to sit and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate

I have been given a task that I had hope to have done today so that I may also have a tabletop done or at least carved out the time to have one done. Did either of those 2 happen ... nope.

Sneak peak at the task I was given.

I have to do some searching in my storage for some garland or hope that the Dollar Tree still has some, but it will be done by Friday.

Here is a little corner in my room that has a top (T.V.); my 'Tree Forest', an ornament for my Dad, and a small Nativity scene. This was just the finding of stuff and pulling them out of the boxes; which I put there to not get 'lost' in the mess of my room.

                       until next time,
                                       Mia

Thankfulness

Big Bear, Ca

Hello my blog friends, a quick stop in to say Happy Thanksgiving the Day after Turkey Day. With working in Retail, I was required to be there - Black Friday was 6 pm Thursday. Today we planned to have our family gather together and break bread; become as stuffed as the turkey.

Yesterday or today have a blessed Turkey Day ........

Hi .... I'm back, went & stuffed myself, came home and zoned out in front of Netflix. Then all of a sudden it is a week later & I see that I never posted this.

Have been packing away the Fall and bringing out Christmas.
I ordered my bed frame so I have been changing my room around.

there I am in the mirror..

Still working out the organization of my space but the feel is so much better then before.

I baked some cookies for my friend at work, Chocolate & Butterscotch  chip yummy.

Remember last Tabletop Tuesday I wrote about my view from my bedroom window....
I added those poinsettias to a pot took a couple of pictures to show off here. Happily satisfied I went inside to admire but once again the wind blew them off . I did weight down the pot with  brick and poinsettias with some wrenches, but it didn't work. Back to the drawing board on weighting them down; but for now I need to get ready for my Retail job.

Have an awesomely blessed day,
Mia

Working Table

Today the dinning room table is a working table. At the end of the year my brother-in-law's company has an event that he coordinates. This makes for a 'not able to do' at the moment tablescape.

However, I did think I can do this....

This is the view from my bedroom - this is a BBQ counter and it is often a 'catch all' spot for outdoor tool stuff, when the BBQ is not in use. And yesterday as I was getting ready for work, looking out my window I wanted something pretty to look at. What I also need to say is that yesterday there was some poinsettias (fake) sitting there before the wind today blew off. The poinsettias are the inspiration to the need to have pretty sitting there. Love how inspiration comes from just a look, now I off to get those poinsettias into something that won't blow away.

                         Have a happy Tuesday,
                                                       Mia

Turkeys for the Table

My Turkey just got some new friends. Last Thursday we went to the Big Mountain to enjoy the fresh mountain air.  We wandered around the Big Village; entering tourist stores, with tourist prices. But when my sister & I came across these we just had to get them...

                                                     Turkey Salt & Pepper Shakers

There was also a beautiful teapot, that once we got it home we saw that it  matched Sister's new ceramic Pumpkin - awesome finds that also had  45% off.

With a new Tuesday Table Top coming I needed some inspiration and with Turkey Day approaching, I wanted to have the turkeys as my focal point. Only the pumpkins are bigger then the turkeys.....

so how do I make that happen.... with pedestals. Well I didn't have any but I knew I could by going to the Dollar Tree.

Even though I got 3 of the same size candlesticks from the Dollar Tree, I wanted one to be a bit taller. When to work early and did a bit of scouting and found a taller candlestick. This morning I was just going to write about putting them together only I couldn't find my glass glue so using my hot glue gun, which isn't permanent & a good thing since Sis & I began talking about painting them. We came up with the idea to give it a mercury glass look. I was able to get the look I wanted - Turkeys as the focal point.

The is what it looks like, I grabbed some scatter leaves - bought 2 years ago from the Dollar Tree - and some acorns that I had gotten from Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago. Put it all together and voila ....

Well, that's the Table for Tuesday, have an awesome day of Turkey, full of family & friends love and thankfulness of God's blessings.

                                                  until next,
                                                                Mia

couple of things.... if you choose to try this the hot glue is not a permanent adhesive so move by the bottom stick and the raffia didn't make it the final cut, in case you wondered. Lastly, I will share my trip to the Big Mountain soon.
