Easter

Entertainment cabinet in living room
Dollar Tree items that I have
bought in the past few years.
                                                          Two ceramic bunnies, a press
board sign and 3 glittery purple
                                                           egg garland.

                                       He has Risen!!!

Luke 24:6 "He is not here; he has risen! .... ' The Son of Man must be delivered over
into the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' "

I only put a few touches of Easter out this year. The couple spots in the living room and the dinning room table. In my bedroom are 4 little stuffed Easter animals that remind me of the ones I would get for my kids basket. I don't have much in the way of decorating for this Season. Some I have lost with moving (forgotten box or two) or they have broken and not repairable. At the moment  my collection is a modge podge of different styles. Some day I may have the look I want but I will keep my focus where it really belong - on Christ.

Tree stump wild flowers
Ceramic tree stump cache that I bought
at a thrift store and when the lid broke I
added some faux wild flowers. This is
oldest piece bought in 1990 & flowers
                                                  add a year later.

I know when my life, my heart is centered on Him; I feel beloved, cared for and blessed. There was a time in my life that I just loved God but didn't work hard at having a relationship with Him. Today my life is about centering Him in my heart and living the blessed life He has planned for me.

Psalms 91:14      " Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will
rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."

Close up of the bunnies

Dining room table
The cross is my sister's and is hanging somewhere
in the front room (open floor plan). The bunnies
I bought at a thrift store when I lived in Northern
California and the topiary is from Michael's.

These are the knick knacks that I put in my room; the first is items bought at Michael's, the frame has a picture of my sister's and Mom taken in the early 70's, then the stuffed animals, and last is the ceramic bunny I found this year at a thrift store. I may just continue collecting a modge podge of Easter decorations keeping with the charm that it all it will ever do is grow, just as God has plans with me.

Auntie Mimi's Famous Oatmeal Cookie Cereal

Early morning ride to work

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day. Oatmeal is a hearty and nutritional and easy to make, just water and oats. It has been around for centuries as the meal to start the day. Modern day oatmeal is so easy that all one has to do is add boiling water. That was my children's favorite - Instant Apple & Cinnamon Oatmeal. A box of 6 packets was priced at over 2 bucks and naturally those little packets never was enough for them. Being on a tight budget instant oatmeal wasn't on the menu. Using my noggin and made homemade apple n cinnamon oatmeal using dried apples (fresh apples became too mushy). And my kids are happy and ready to face the day.

Now, let me tell you about Auntie Mimi's famous Oatmeal Cookie Cereal. Auntie Mimi - is me; Mimi is my nickname and easier to remember for my nephews - The Heroes, who helped named this recipe. They like oatmeal but for some reason they didn't want any the morning I was to make it. I then remembered my Dad saying tact on the word 'famous' and the kids will eat it. Add 'cookie' to it for a breakfast doubles your chances on the kids eating the oatmeal.

Auntie Mimi's Famous Oatmeal Cookie Cereal

I have made oatmeal so often that I know that with the amount of water that when I add the oats it will be perfect. I make 1 to 2 servings and I like mine sweet & buttery. Using the amount of oats and water that Quaker Oats recommend; I will say what I approximately use for the rest of the ingredients

             serving 2
   1 cup of oats
   1 3/4 cup water
   1/2 c brown sugar
   2 tbsp butter
   1/2 tsp cinnamon
   1 tsp vanilla
In saucepan bring to boil water, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and vanilla. Add oats - cook as recommended to Oats. Serve with or without milk. Enjoy.
For Apple n Cinnamon Oatmeal - add 3 - 4 slices, chopped dried apples; reduce vanilla 1/2 tsp or omit.

                           How do you do breakfast?

Project Photo

This morning I was at one of my nephew's house and on my way home I get to see this, a Peacock. I kinda had to chase him to get a picture but then I was never really close enough for a
 good picture.

                                          Pictures
I enjoy capturing moments in life, that image in time. My children just call me Paparazzi Momma. This also means I have a ton of pictures... pictures in boxes, undeveloped film, and digital - in a couple of formats CD, flash drives, SD cards, and computers. My Photo Project is to put ALL my pictures in order and have a back-up. I've lost all my pictures pre 1990 and I have been searching from family any pictures I have shared. So it is important to me to have another place of keeping photos.

Then I do this: take more pictures.

They are at least digital and I have a hard time deleting any that have flaws. Flaws as when I catch someone taking a bite. The blurry ones those I do delete when I reviewing a photo session.

Though I sometimes get pictures like this - walking down the street as I was repeatedly trying to get pictures of the peacock. At the moment they are still on my computer and phone (I have my phone linked with Goggle Photos).  I have other subjects that are just like this or blurry and haven't deleted all of them from my over crowded phone and soon to be files.
I am making a small dent in putting order to the photos and scanning the ones that I know are not on CD. Which is a long process since have some on CD, some not and all mixed up; out of order. I will be spending a few of my evenings over the next few months sorting through the boxes and digital files putting order to my photos.

                                   Enjoy your week,
                                                        Mia

Planning

Master Planners, I've heard of these people and I admire them; because they can get things done. Now me I'm  A Master List Maker. I have called myself that because that is what I have done. Maker of To Do List, those dreams of big things for my world. Reality is that about 25% of those list of ever get done and they are cleaning list. I have always wanted to join this club... The Master Planners Club. It is also a place God wants me to be. I have been in His word and believe this is where God leads not just me but all of us. Becoming Good Stewart's is His Plan, not just with money but our time as well. How we invest it is His Plan and I want to be that 'good and faithful servant'.
The reason for today's talk of Planning is that yesterday I was asked to teach Children's Service tomorrow. So today I need to plan what we are learning and the games to play. And I have not been very focused on my blog this past month (February) because of work. My mind has, it seems to be circling the drain .... plan, schedule, plan, plan, schedule, schedule, do this, do that, that I get lost in the moment and when I come up for air that is all I think about. Sitting down and do nothing; which also means that some part of me is sore. I always look forward to a new morning,
                    "The steadfast love of the LORD never creases, his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
                                                                         ~Lam 3:22-23

I will spend the rest of my afternoon getting the lesson ready for tomorrow and the game pieces done. We are going to play a version of Musical Chairs, that when the music stops the kids will say this weeks memory verse.

Everything will live wherever the River goes.
