Flamingo Pink
I had loads of fun gathering the elements - Flamingo themed items - for this look.
The center piece was my most challenging. I wanted Hibiscus flowers but
none was found at my local Hobby Lobby ( that large green spot is just waiting for
that bright pink bloom). As I was looking for tropical flowers and seeing the Calla Lillie
and Orchids, the arrangement began to form.
My Guest of Honor Alpinia the Flamingo, she enjoyed our little get together. I found
her at Retail and just had to have her, she was a Mother's day gift toy that I bought after so it
was marked down. Win Win Alpinia now has a home with me & I didn't pay a lot for her.
When it came to the dish I wanted to add to the theme I thought what could be more
Tropical then a Fruit Salad. Though I'm pretty sure if I asked Sissa what was a more common
dish for Florida - flamingos, Florida, And Tropics go together I think; and this Sissa lived in
Florida for a while, I would get a different dish then Fruit Salad.
Dinner was a Grilled Munster Cheese with Apple and Onion Chutney on English
Toasting Bread along with Fruit Salad. With expanding how I share my Table with you I
am now planning a Menu. This also means trying new dishes or being creative with old
favorites - like Grilled Cheese Sandwich.
Loved my cute like Block signs & the Flamingo Salt & Pepper. The Flamingo
S&P was actually a set of flamingo & cactus S&P and I didn't think cactus would work,
so I bought 2 sets, used 2 flamingos and thought ummmm now I may just now have to
do a Cactus Table?
This guy (well, there are 2) where too cute to pass up when I was looking for
Flamingo inspiration, being picture/placecard holders really isn't what I wanted but I still
just had to have and makes a nice addition to the floral arrangement. They can be used as
intended in the next Flamingo Table...
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did setting this up. I also hope this inspires you
to be creative with your table.
until next table,
Mia
