My Heros & Tables

I'm back.... I was roped into helping my younger sister with getting her 3 boys ready for school. I spent a few days in the big city, helping with home, laundry and getting after school schedules in place. Being a single mom is not easy; she is the bread winner and mother to 3 rambunctious young boys.
While there I thought of everything I needed to do here to ready myself for school next week. I had also thought of what I can write about it here. That is the point of this blog, to share with you this journey into an Artistic Life. I have come to see that Artful Living is a lot of planning, it isn't you make something pretty, say your dinning room table (which I like doing for my sister's table) but it take some planning. Planning of when to change, plan of storing & packing. Some of the items are mine and some are my sister's; and I have to keep track of where I put something so that I may use again. Though some are easier then others and some feel incomplete but they have all have put a smile on my face.
This is my  Boston Tea Party center piece for the table in July was a pretty way to keep my tea cups right where they where.

I received the sugar bowl for Mother's Day and was enjoying it on the table. When July came I was not ready to put the tablescape away, so I tucked the Patriotic decorations amid the Tea Dishes

Christmas & my Sister's new Cardinal Salt & Pepper Shakers
My Sister has a nice collection of Christmas Salt & Pepper Shakers and loved when I arranged them in a centerpiece. (can't seem to find that picture)

These are just a few of the tablescapes I have done, and have been doing them for the past couple years.

Well, I'm off to finish my laundry and do some dishes. And get the table ready for fall.
                                   Till next week,

my favorite pink rose bush
hello, just wanted to drop in and let you know I have been thinking about you for the past 2 weeks. I want to be posting something here every Saturday, giving me a week to share with you some story of how I did this or that. I have drafted 2 stories to share but I also like to have all the parts come together to make a pretty story. And it seems the lawn story has been scraped, my sister's home needed a new roof and this is the week it is being done. I helped with the cleaning up, this is a semi DIY project... more on that later.
My Harvest collection
I have come to think of Life as a bunch of little stories, chapters of seasons and the book isn't finished yet. And to write a good story the page needs all the right words. Now I must get on with my day, the roof cleanup has left me exhausted at the end of the day that the inside has been  neglected, along with a few projects  I need doing.
My Harvest wreath needs a bit of hot glue and the pumpkins and scarecrows need to come out of storage.

Hoping you are enjoying the end of your summer.

P.S. have i said yet that next week I am starting school again, my last semester. We'll talk later I'm sure about it.

Hello everyone, all week long I thought of you and what you should know about me and what is it I want to share with you. Knowing that there are many blogs out there in Blogland, I not wanting this to be one of the same pretty style blogs. This is what I want to share: I am a 50 year old woman who needs to rediscover what God wants me to have. To share with others the way God can move in my life and He can most certainly do so in yours.

Me ~ Spring of 2015
Before blogs, magazines was how I day dreamed of a Pretty Home (Artistic Living). Homes that the in-crowd of high society have (cause of money), then I discovered blogs and saw ordinary people have those same homes (with less money). Five years ago I started this rediscover journey; went from employed to not; lead to living in my sisters home and becoming a student. Knowing that soon I would be having a place of my own, I began taking stock of what I have and making list of what I wanted (realistically), dreaming of what it would look like. Part of that taking stock was my skills as a Housekeeper (Domestic Artist) - dishes and floors don't count...noticed dusting didn't make the list lol.  I felt that if I wanted an Artistic Living home then my Domestic Artist skills needs to be honed so I am sharing that process with you while in my sister's home.

Today I was wanting to share with you The Reseeding of the Front Yard but this is how far I have gotten with ~
Lawn
It has been very hot so I have only been able to do an hour or so in the morning or in the evening, guess that's why I am not a gardener, more like an indoor container planter. The few websites that I have found reports that it is not seeding season, but it will help with those pesky weeds. The goal here is to minimize the weeds and hopefully gain more grass coverage is what my sister wants. I have been aerating the soil and pulling some weeds. I can say that the roses are doing just fine, could it be that they like my Container Planter thumb.

have a blessed week, until next time
