Pumpkin Patch Table

This year's Pumpkins...

The pumpkins have begun to sprout everywhere out onto the table.

These are my newest pumpkins to join ranks
From the Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby

Last years babies
The ceramic Pumpkin is from the Dollar Spot at Target
and the others are from Hobby Lobby

Dollar Tree Pumpkins, several years ago.

My favorite and the start of my collection is the
 Candle Pumpkin  from Michael's;
the Glass Pumpkin is from a thrift store;
the Jack o' Lanterns  are from Target

Over the next few weeks they will be spread about the house along with my Sister's collection.
but for now this will be the ones that will hang out on the Table.

My Sister's owls, Salt & Pepper Shakers,
they are so adorable and need to be pointed out as they hang out

Pinterest Fall Garland

I saw this on Garland on Pinterest and knew I could make one like it for me.

               This is my version:

I made a simple and elegant center piece for the table

                                                                        and

wrapped it around a cross hanging on the wall.

                                                                     One Leaf

This is the surprise - I will be giving this garland to one of you to
help start your Fall kick off.

Just make a comment here or on Random Thoughts Facebook of just your name.
If making a comment here is not working go to my Facebook & leave your name along
                                                                        with the title One Leaf

It is a Beaded & Leaf wire garland that can be laid lengthwise to make into a wreath, 3 feet long; it will come in a keepsake box in which you can store till the next season.

The drawing will be open for a week - Friday to Friday; I will place all your names in a bowl a pick a winner Sunday Sept 3 and announce the winner on the next Tabletop Tues.

                 until next thought,
                           Mia

--- added amendment, so I don't miss your name please post on the link's post    Aug 29.

Fall on the Mind Tabletops

The Fun Fun project is almost finished
but in the meantime here are some ...

                                                                    Tabletops

As I was working on it, I was watching YouTube Fall Decorating ideas. It had me wanting to get Fall out. I knew it would be to early to put Stuff out for my Sister so I haven't gotten any storage containers out of the shed but I had bought a few things from the Dollar Tree & 99 Cent store ( they sell out quick ), and the bags where just hanging around my room. So I did it - I took the new Fall pieces and placed them around my room.

My printer with a Napkin that I bought at the end of last year's season after I had already packed away Fall & Christmas; I also bought the burlap bow with bell pick at the same time from Joann's Fabric. They where hanging out in my room - didn't want them packed away separate from the other boxes, so I dug them out of a container that has my candles.

The Tree I made by taking 2 faux branches and putting it in a cache pot, add leaves & acorns and ...  voila - I have a Seasonal mini tree. Place a few pumpkins and my Autumn sign for a nice touch that I bought at Hobby Lobby.

Here I add some Sunflowers to a mini white jug and some more pumpkins.

I hung my door wreath to see where I needed to re-attach some missing flowers. I found some flower branches at the Dollar Tree; flowers went missing last year when we had a stiff breeze. I will be adding some extra Hot Glue so as to not have a repeat with the wind. I will also look for a ribbon to finish the look. Arlynn has video tutorial on bow making - very easy, now I just need to find a ribbon.  Hobby Lobby here I come!

Remember this bow from Random Pictures in July post that is how I 'learnt it' ... watching Arlynn on YouTube. I don't know how to Link but to find Arlynn on YouTube search: Arlynn's Country Craft Corner. She is a lovely lady from Virginia and she shares her home and what not of her life. Great bow making tutorials.

                         until next tabletop,

Table Dressings

Friday I went to recycle the plastic, made almost 30 bucks whoo hoo! Recycling helps with my budget of Trinkets and Seasonal decorating. After Recycling I wanted to check out the Dollar Tree - to see if they have Fall Decor in... Hobby Lobby does; so I'm driving down the road just about to pass Goodwill and make a quick decision to cruise the store for 15 min. So I park, get out of car, set my timer before I walk in and 15 minutes later I'm getting in the car with...

                                    and

Minus $9, the glass Apothecary jar with the shells was 4.99, the bargain of the day. These jars average $20 plus, then to get the shells which are $7-10, bargain. But what I really fell in love with is the Silver Trophy Bowl for $3.99. It was the first piece that made it in the basket and was not going back on the shelf.

I put some of my go to Faux and voila - a gorgeous centerpiece for the table.

I love to search for new Trinkets. When I saw the bowl I just knew I need it and would use it this way and it has become my new favorite piece.

Let me talk a bit of 'Haul sharing' (which is what I just did) - YouTube has videos of people share their homes, decorating tips & DIY's but when they show what they bought here or there ... No. It just makes me ' oohhh I want' which of course I'm watching last seasons and they are no longer selling anything like it. Keeping up with the Jones' I am not.

What I do think is - how a person should cruise the stores to find their own likes. Watching YouTube is just to find inspiration and not to see what the Jones' bought and where. Me sharing my world of Trinkets is giving a bit of me to you.

What do you do for inspiration?

                     until next table,

July's Random Photos

Last month I had taken some random pictures on my phone and when I looked at them in the context of when another person views them they would think " woman why?????"

Especially this one; one day I saw some Zingers, bought them and I snapped this before I took my first bite. This was one of my Daddy's favorite snacks but I think Daddy will be a bit disappointed now, it tasted more like grease then Raspberry iced cake with a cream filling.

While having Birthday Dinner with my Son I had to have this picture   -   love their
idea of 'sauce', ....the peppers are whole. Another one of those pictures that is a why.

The angle of this shot makes the Bowl of Apples look over flowing; when I took this, I thought this would be a good picture to draw. I love drawing just I don't practice enough. Apples make for a good drawing practice composition.

The first Thunderstorm of the Summer - I was trying to get a rain falling but the thought of taking the picture came after the rain fall. I was writing when I realized that a Thunderstorm was in full bloom and was on a roll. So this is the only proof that it Rained in July.

Levi Kitty - I always seem to have a picture of the antics of this Kitty. I had just changed the tablecloth and he uses the window as door - table up against wall that has Levi's window door.

The dish I use for painting - the Village project which has been set aside as I work
on surprise for ya'll. I like using the CorningWare as a paint palette, it cleans well and if the paint drys it will still come off.

This is one of those things that I keep telling myself that I want to learn - bow making - the simple shoe bow is nice but one with loopy loos says Pretty Look. Need to practice on the holding technique but it came turned out nice & fluffy.

What pictures have you taken that if someone looks at will say "what for"?

          until next thought,
                        Mia

Table Plans Waylayed

This is the Table for the past 2 weeks. It was mentally planned to have a Nantucket Beach look, just it never got any further than the inspiration picture.

Had My Heroes for a week and well they are not the decorating kinda living boys. We had a great time.... well minus the constant wrestling that threaten my trinkets and my sanity. Three boys that are on the constant go of competition & I know how i.e. don't need instruction, is exhausting.

Levi Kitty photo bomb

That I needed to have simple on the Table.

Now it is back to business, have lots to do because I have a Fun- Fun project in mind that I will reveal at the end of the month. Fun that I will be putting the Village Painting project aside or working on it will be touch here and touch there.

As you can see I'm not happy with the way they are looking, that I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some spray paint for a fast cover up - primer.

The original church (minus the glitter snow - not done here) is the look I want for
   the Village.

Back to the drawing board for the Village & to keep these projects going I'm going to be on a tight schedule. Oh speaking of projects, the Fair Table - we missed the registration date; there is always next year and a whole year of practice.

       until next table,
                        Mia
